The LEO GX super clock can generate the clock signal required for the decoder to work. For the first time in the industry, the external clock signal completely bypasses the internal clock of the decoder and directly drives the working mode of the decoder. Through this design, the performance of the decoder breaks through the limitation of the internal circuit and depends entirely on the quality of the external input clock. LEO GX and VEGA G2 form a revolutionary digital decoding product. They provide unprecedented levels of dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio with minimal distortion, allowing your playback system to sound more natural and analog-like.
The engineering design of the LEO GX
The LEO GX features all the unique technologies of the Sonic G2 series, with two fully independent clock generators inside. The two clock generators operate at 90.3168MHz and 98.304MHz–It is used to directly drive the decoder to play 44.1KHz and 48KHz sampling rate and other higher frequency PCM and DSD music. An independent 10MHz atomic clock provides the reference signal inside each clock generator, and the SC-cut ultra-low noise crystal oscillator generates the final working signal. To ensure frequency stability, each group of atomic clocks and crystal oscillators are packaged in the same heating oven.
Sonic Audio follows the integrated structure chassis of G2 series in LEO GX(UnityChassis). The integrated structure chassis is cut from a single piece of aluminum ingot, and the best isolation effect is achieved with the foot pegs with damping and shock absorption effect. The unique counterweight structure inside the LEO GX can adjust the center of gravity of the product to the center of the chassis to maximize the shock absorption effect. By using an all-in-one structural chassis, the delicate clock generator inside the LEO GX is isolated from electromagnetic interference in the external space and avoids clock noise caused by vibration. Power supply has always been an important part of clock circuit design. LEO GX adopts dual-channel Purer-Power linear power supply. This design completely isolates the power supply of the clock generator and the control circuit, ensuring the purity of the clock generator power supply. In order to ensure that the noise generated by the control circuit will not enter the clock generator in any way, the control signals of the clock generator are interconnected by optical fiber lines, which fundamentally eliminates the possibility of any interference.
Since the clock frequency generated by LEO GX is close to 100MHz and the precision is extremely high, this puts forward extremely high requirements on the quality of transmission cables and connectors. After actual measurement, it is found that the existing audiophile-grade clock lines cannot meet the requirements due to insufficient design bandwidth. To maximize the performance of the LEO GX, Sonic Audio will provide two versions of the LEO GX for customers to choose from. The basic version of LEO GX provides a standard RF specification clock signal cable; the advanced version of the LEO GX includes a high-precision clock signal cable. The cable is manufactured using aerospace-grade cables and connectors with a transmission bandwidth of 60GHz. Each upgrade clock line is made and debugged purely by hand. During the production process, it is repeatedly measured and adjusted by precise instruments to achieve the best transmission effect. When customers receive the upgraded clock line, they will also get a test map of the clock line to show its actual performance.
The various special technologies and attention to detail introduced by Sonic in LEO GX have created a perfect working environment for it, ensuring that this super clock can provide an absolutely accurate clock signal to the VEGA G2.
